Maiadeu
Cadaqués Vineyard
Maiadeu is a family-owned vineyard, managed by Encarna Castillo and Ton Mata, located in Cadaqués, within the Cap de Creus Natural Park. It is cultivated in an old vineyard area on slate soil, arranged in dry-stone terraces on the slopes of the Muntanya Negra. The result is a wine that surprises on the palate, with richness of flavor, freshness, and texture. Its color is unpredictable to the eye, unexpected. Its unusual acidity lingers on the lips, while its intense flavor endures with elegance. It changes, evolves, transforms. It seems to fade away, yet it returns. Like a persistent memory you cannot let go of, as if you could never say goodbye.
Our creative challenge was to convey the uniqueness of this vineyard through the packaging and the label, creating an experience that accompanies the consumer from the very first contact to the moment of tasting the wine. To achieve this, we drew direct inspiration from the Maiadeu vineyard landscape. The dry-stone terraces became the main motif of the outer packaging, capturing their texture and the irregular beauty of the origin. In this way, the packaging conveys the strength and rugged character of the vineyard even before opening the bottle, without the need for additional words, without revealing the particularity and the unique character of its contents.

The label, with an elegant and simple typographic design, was conceived solely to reveal the wine’s name, creating a play of expectations and surprises for the consumer. The result is packaging that not only protects and identifies the product, but also tells the story of the vineyard and its wine from the first visual contact with the bottle to the moment it is uncorked.

The passion and knowledge of the land by Encarna and Ton are reflected in every corner of the vineyard, where tradition, landscape, and sensitivity come together to bring to life a unique terroir, the foundation of Maiadeu’s exceptional character.
