Corporate Identity

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona has entrusted us with the design of their new logo in a comprehensive rebranding project, with the aim of updating their corporate image, making the current brand attributes more visible and prominent, while also improving the legibility of the acronym UAB. The result is a much more streamlined and organic typographic logo compared to the previous one, with specific typographic work done on the letter A to add dynamism to the acronym without sacrificing legibility. The old bronze color is replaced by a fresher green, which is implemented as the new corporate color. The Helvetica Neue typeface is also replaced with Telegraf Bold, giving the brand a more youthful and modern spirit with organic connotations. In addition to updating the corporate image, this renovation also aimed to address the accessibility and legibility issues of the previous logo, especially in the context of the internationalization of universities, which requires the UAB brand to be readable and recognizable by both students already familiar with the institution and potential international students who are not yet acquainted with it.

Identity

The new, much more legible logo successfully achieves the dual challenge of giving greater visibility to the UAB brand and promoting the current attributes and values of the University in a way that is relatable and understandable worldwide.

The new identity no longer uses the A in bronze color, and green becomes the new corporate color of UAB. Green alludes to its unique campus in Catalonia, one of the most distinctive tangible attributes of the institution.

To ensure that the new brand is flexible and can be applied across various proportions on countless communication platforms, up to seven logo variations have been designed. These standardized alternative versions enhance the brand’s versatility, providing users with flexibility during its application.
